I commented to my broadcast colleague Chocolate Pain Nelson Rahi that Syd Phillips suffered a brutal beating at 2013's Super 8 show, one year earlier, and seeing Keith being beaten down this year brought back those happy memories. Syd Phillips, thankfully, hasn't been seen since, and, to my understanding, has quit wrestling altogether. Now, did Keith the Destroyer do the same? Did he follow in the footsteps of Syd Phillips and quietly bow out after winning such a big event? LIKE HELL HE DID!
No, of course, Keith is still here GODDAMNIT! And not only that, but he's competing at CCW's biggest show of the year, The Big One Chapter 3, and not only that, but he will compete in a number one contender's match for a shot at CCW's brand new Welsh Championship. Not only has he got the Super 8 Cup, but he wants the Welsh Title belt too? Doesn't he think he's done enough in this company for now? Doesn't he think he should maybe let someone else take his place, someone who otherwise wouldn't get the chance to fight for that title? Oh no, not Keith, because it's all got to be about him. Well, when it finally comes to the 25th of August, we'll see just how destructive The Destroyer is.
As I mentioned in that opening there, CCW has recently acquired it's first title belt, the CCW Welsh Championship. The champion will be decided at CCW's biggest show of the year, The Big One Chapter 3, in a Gauntlet match. The competitors of said match will be decided that night in a series of number one contender's matches that will include the best of the best of CCW's roster... and Keith Matthews. Potential competitors for the belt include Keith the Destroyer, Byson, Jack Union, and Disco Bert plus more.
Also on the card will be CCW's first ever Women's Match. Jezabeth will take on The People's Princess Nadia Sapphire. It seems no one ever told Jezabeth to keep her words soft and sweet in case she has to eat them later, because she's been on Twitter calling Nadia out, telling her she's going down, taunting her over a recent injury, and using language that's not very lady like to say the least. Meanwhile, there doesn't seem to have been much coming from Nadia in regards to the match. Is she not responding to these onslaughts to show Jezabeth that she's not getting to her, or is she trying to hide the fact that she's scared? From what I've seen of Jezabeth's in-ring work, I'd be running for the hills if I were Nadia Sapphire!
Aside from a possible women's division in CCW, one particular feud that has got my attention is the tag team rivalry between G-Force and newcomer Celtic Kid as they go toe to toe with the team of CCW's Chairman Mason Tombs and Mr. No Fear Ryan Lloyd. Last time we saw Mason and Lloyd as a tag team they were getting their individual asses kicked by Byson in what was essentially a handicap match. So what does that tell you about this team? Well despite their loss, I have to admit, they work well as a team. But what of G-Force and Celtic Kid? Well it's tough to say right now.
During G-Force's comeback match teaming with Byson against Tombs and Lloyd, it was Byson who did all the work. G-Force has since become more assertive I'm glad to say, he knows what he wants, and he's going to do whatever he has to to get it. As for Celtic Kid, I've not seen much of him, but from what I have seen, he looks promising. He's a fast paced cruiserweight, but he's young and inexperienced. What this team needs is a manager, someone to guide them, help them out, get them a few wins, and while they're at it, get involved why not? Someone like yours truly. Hey, I'm just throwing it out there guys, just remember, I'm here if you need me.
