Mr Sweeney (The Golden Embassy) 27/01/14
In a brutally honest interview, Mr Sweeney - the mastermind of The Golden Embassy reveals all about how he intends to powerbomb CCW; lions, sheep and Keith the Destroyer; Jack Union and the controversial faction's much talked about links to the (ex) chairman of CCW, Masata Mojito.
Nelson Rahi
Mr Sweeney, thanks for giving me the time to ask you some questions, if possible I'd like to find out a little about yourself before as we talk about the Golden Embassy and the factors driving your campaign. So to begin, why did you start wrestling? What made you want to start?
Mr Sweeney
Well I think you promoted me there. I don't consider myself a 'Wrestler' as such, I'm more of a Fighter. My Wrestling Mindset is stronger than my Physical Ability list. But to answer your question - I came into the Wrestling Business with one goal in mind: Championships. The glory of showing off only something YOU have that nobody else owns is the reason why everybody joins the Business in the first place, whether they like to admit that or not. I just tell it as it is.
Nelson Rahi
I see. That's interesting because when you enticed Ace Jordan and Tommy Hayden away from CCW to join the Golden Embassy, one thing I remember you promised was to take them to the stars and back and to fight for Championship Gold. The Golden Embassy seem highly disrespectful with regards to other wrestlers, if any who were your favourite wrestlers growing up and currently?
Mr Sweeney
Exactly, because they were losing sight on why they became Wrestlers in the first place. I just set them both in the right direction, and they are very grateful of that. When I was growing up, my favourite Wrestlers were the guys who never got a chance to shine in the Spotlight because of their 'size', but eventually got their break because their Talent got them there - and they were guys like Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Mick Foley, Chris Jericho etc. Currently my favourites are Tommy Hayden & Ace Jordan - because like the Pro's I just mentioned, they are victimised because of their 'size', but with my help, they will eventually fulfill their Wrestling Destinies by becoming Legends in their own right.
Nelson Rahi
I have to say from a CCW perspective, we all expected Ace Jordan and Tommy Hayden to fulfill their potential with us - I'm not so sure anyone could have belittled them. Is greed a factor in what the Golden Embassy are doing?
Mr Sweeney
How could have they become successful in CCW when there isn't any Championship Gold up for grabs? The Golden Embassy is what it says: a Diplomatic Mission for Gold. That's it. We don't care about how we get it, so long as we recognise ourselves as the greatest in CCW by claiming what is rightfully ours. I'm not delusional when I say that, because everybody else in that CCW Locker Room don't even know what day it is. They don't care about their goals in life. Golden Embassy have a goal, and we stick to it at all costs!
Nelson Rahi
That's very revealing about yours and the Golden Embassy's attitude towards the CCW Locker Room. Certainly the Embassy don't shy away from interfering in matches and pulling (I'll be diplomatic) morally questionable stunts off in the ring. You've been at odds with Keith the Destroyer Mathews for nearly a year now in-ring, how did that come about and why do you think your two parties oppose each other so vehemently?
Mr Sweeney
Golden Embassy doesn't shy away from the truth. You mentioned Keith Mathews, so I will focus solely on him for now. I think Keith's problem with us is he knows we are right with everything we do and say, and he cries himself to sleep every night because I didn't handpick him to join Golden Embassy. He is suffering from a "If I can't join them, beat them" attitude, and that's just a front he displays to the CCW Fans. Deep down, he knows he missed out on the biggest (and only) chance he could ever dream of getting, and he has to live with that for the rest of his life. I actually feel sorry for him. I didn't handpick Keith because he lacks Talent and Charisma. It wasn't personal, but he went out of his way to make it personal. So now, he's being Destroyed by the one thing he wanted more than life itself.
Nelson Rahi
Wow, no messing about there. I'm sure Keith the Destroyer will have some words of his own in response at some stage, but for now if I may, I'd like to ask, what is your favourite memory from wrestling? (It could be a match, a spot, interview a crowd, whatever stands out!) And, if you could wrestle in a triple threat match, who would you pick as your opponents and why?
Mr Sweeney
Keith can respond all he likes, but he needs to remember that Lions never lose sleep over the opinions of Sheep. My favourite memory from wrestling is forming the Golden Embassy. That entire concept shocked people to the point where a little girl in the front row began crying when I ordered Tommy & Ace to attack Jack Union. I walked past her and laughed my head off. And if I could wrestle in a Triple Threat Match - my opponents would be Tommy Hayden & Ace Jordan, for the simple fact that I would be guaranteed one hell of a match! We all have nothing but respect for each other, so no matter who became the winner of that match, all three of us would raise our arms in victory together.
Nelson Rahi
With total respect that sounds a little idealistic to me, what if the match were for the Championship Gold that you so covet? Could you put brotherhood ahead of ambition then?
Mr Sweeney
We would have already won before we stepped through the curtain, because the Golden Embassy would be guaranteed to have a Champion after the match - and that's the whole reason our bond exists. Champagne and Women would follow our celebration, but I apologise, I know you have no experience of matters like that. Next question.
Nelson Rahi
Not in a wrestling ring at least! But okay, given the Golden Embassy's previous history, if you could run in and change the outcome of one match from history, which would it be?
Mr Sweeney
The CCW Last Man Standing Rumble. That was the match where we made a name for ourselves, because all three of us drew early numbers, and we all managed to get down to the final four. We had our victory right there, but Tommy & Ace made the mistake of charging at Jack Union at the same time. That left me to face the music, which I didn't mind, but I then made the mistake of believing Jack Union when he offered an apology to me in the ring. If I only did what I did best and give him a cheap shot to distract him, then I would have eliminated him and won the Rumble by myself. Jack Union got lucky that night, because all three of us made one mistake each. We all forgave each other though, because we had literally just formed as a unit moments earlier, so we didn't know each other's style at that time.
Nelson Rahi
That was such an epic Rumble match, you each walked away with a lot of (grudging) respect. But you've mentioned another one of the main pillars coming up against the Golden Embassy in Jack Union. He returned and managed to gain victory with Keith the Destroyer and Trent Adams at Halloween Havoc, last October. What are your thoughts on him? As I remember it, he too was one of the people you wanted to join the Golden Embassy?
Mr Sweeney
Why thank you for being honest in respecting our hard work, it's only natural we get respected. Jack Union indeed was chosen to join the Golden Embassy because I seen his Talent and was very impressed by what he had to offer. I thought he cared about Success, but he clearly doesn't, so I was extremely disappointed when he rejected my offer. His victory over us at Halloween Havoc came about only because he is a better Wrestler than I am, so he had the upper hand on me that night when I charged at him full speed, ready to hit him with a Knock-out Blow, and he caught me with a Spinebuster. For 3 seconds, I was dazed, but by the time I came about to fight, his Music was already playing. But with that said, that doesn't make Jack Union better than the Golden Embassy. He is good, I will give him his dues, but with all three of us on his back, he wouldn't stand a chance.
Nelson Rahi
Well, I always thought I gave you guys the respect due to you, but it was your collective attitude that changed people's perceptions to you. However if I didn't know what the Golden Embassy were all about, I'd say that was almost a humble summation of the match, so fair play for that. As you seem so focused on getting exactly what you want, do you live by any motto or philosophy? Also, (and I feel I can name the candidates already) if you could Powerbomb one CCW Wrestler through a table, who would it be and why?
Mr Sweeney
It was humble and honest, because that's how we work, so you were right on your assumption there. The Golden Embassy's motto is "The Extreme Supreme of Professional Wrestling!". We are Extreme in our actions and Supreme in our outlook. No other Wrestler has that quality, and we are proud of that. And to answer your last question, if CCW itself was a Person, I would take the distinct honour of powerbombing it through not one table, but through twenty tables off the roof of a building! Do I really need to answer why I would do that? I think it's rather obvious.

Perhaps too honest for my taste. If I may, I'd like you to clear up for everyone just what the Golden Embassy's link was to the previous Chairman, Masata Majito. Back at the Super 8 Tournament, Ace Jordan was parachuted in to replace Keith the Destroyer Mathews at the last minute, without anyone knowing why and also, we had that highly controversial phone call from the ex-chairman to adjudicate the winner in the Ace Jordan - Trent Adams match. He seemed to back the Golden Embassy no matter what, can you shed any light on that now that he is gone?
Mr Sweeney
I had no personal involvement with the Super 8 Tournament, and I made that clear by not attending the event. The Ex-Chairman never contacted me to appear at the event, and I had no problem with that, because Tommy Hayden was at Ace's side throughout the night. Whatever decisions Masata made, I could only sit back and watch them unfold. In regards to the "controversial decision" over Ace's match with Trent, that was the right call in my eyes, because somebody had to advance, and Masata noticed that going from Performance Wise, Ace Jordan won the match. It's as simple as that.
Nelson Rahi
Perhaps I'm guilty of seeing conspiracies everywhere then, who knows. Thank you for clearing that up, but I must ask about the current CCW Chairman, Mason Tombs. He's been very vocal about how he wants to rid CCW of the Golden Embassy and how he doesn't like the way you go about things. What are your thoughts on him and what does the future hold for the Golden Embassy?
Mr Sweeney
Mason Tombs is just the same as the guys in the Locker Room in our eyes. He's "trying" to eradicate us from CCW like everyone else, and that's fine. We know we aren't going anywhere, and we accept any challenge. In Mason's case, he poses no threat to the Golden Embassy, despite his "political power". I have my own Power backstage, and that is being a "CCW Talent Scout". I signed a Contract which cannot be broken, in which I have freedom to stay with this company for as long as I see fit in order to bring Talent to the game. Atleast that's what the contract states. But as you and everyone else knows, my true intentions were finding Talent for my Golden Embassy. CCW is at Checkmate with the three of us because of this, and that's the reason why most of the guys hate us - because they don't have the Power like we have.
Nelson Rahi
Mr Sweeney, thank you for taking the time to answer these questions. I think the fans, wrestlers and everyone involved with CCW will be reading your responses with fascination. Do you have anything else you'd like to say before we wrap this interview up?
Mr Sweeney
In response to what the future holds for us: Tommy Hayden & Ace Jordan will be the backbone of CCW, and me - Mr. Sweeney - will be the head of this company, and that will be when CCW finally gains credibility. All I can say now is that Passion is defined by Desire. You have no Passion for what you want to achieve, you simply have no reason being here, and the Golden Embassy will make sure of that. Now if you excuse me, I have a Limousine waiting for me outside.
Nelson Rahi
My thanks to The Golden Embassy's Mr Sweeney.
