Always controversial and forthright to the point of rudeness, the infamous manager and brains behind the Golden Embassy recently took some time to speak to me about his time in CCW:
Mr. Sweeney
Yes, hello Nelson, it's been a while indeed. Well, I agreed to resurface in the eyes of the CCW Spotlight this one last time to address a few unanswered questions, and to bring a sense of closure about the past two years from which I debuted in the company and attempted to bring it down.
First and foremost, I just wanted to clear the air when I say that I apologise from the bottom of my cold black heart for all of the drama and extreme lengths I took in trying to destroy Conwy County Wrestling. I never had any right to even think about bringing it let down, let alone acting on it. I was a fool who was blinded with greed, power and corruption.
Let me take you back to the early days. I was invited to watch the CCW Last Man Standing Show in April 2013 as a Talent Scout for other wrestling companies, and from the get-go, I took that chance to sign talented wrestlers to my own new wrestling company. If I signed enough people, then I would build my own wrestling empire and pack out shows with my skilled match-making abilities and good attention to detail. My intentions were honest and pure, but my actions spoke volumes of deceit and dishonesty.
During the Main Event of that show, I impulsively acted on selfishness, and somehow managed to sway Tommy Hayden and Ace Jordan into believing my false promises of Super-stardom. Ugliness comes in the form of cults, and individuality is the truest form of heroism.
After starting a brutal campaign with Hayden & Jordan - now collectively known as the Golden Embassy - we took drastic measures to ensure that all three of us reached the top of the Materialistic Mountain, and betrayed not only the CCW Locker Room and Management, but the CCW Fans as well.
We were kidding ourselves into thinking we would actually knock off the entire company, but we came close, by God we came close. It all came ahead at CCW Bad Blood in March 2014 during a No DQ Tornado Tag Team Match (Golden Embassy vs Team CCW), with the winners having control of the Company.
Underhanded tactics failed us, Brothers came to aid, and after losing the match, I snapped. It got me and my brainwashed companion Tommy Hayden fired, and we were hell bent on disgracing CCW even more than we were disgraced.
So at CCW's biggest show of the year, we disguised ourselves as two Mexican wrestlers and smuggled our way into the CCW Welsh Championship Gauntlet, and again failed. By this point, I was mentally burnt out and defeated with my impossible goals of taking CCW to the limit, so I decided enough was enough - and called it a day, this time for good.
No more sneaky attacks or betrayals, no more politics, no more excuses. I raised both my arms in the air and admitted that I took on Conwy County Wrestling and paid the ultimate price! Fast forward 6 months and Mr. Sweeney has finally taken hindsight and perspectives to a more positive outlook. It doesn't matter that I failed, because whatever evil possessed me back when I was a member of the Company has now taken over my former adversaries - and with the same mind-set of destroying CCW.
My resolution through all of my ramblings is that Conwy County Wrestling has earned my utmost respect for not keeling over at my insane demands and fighting back when everything was on the line - and always coming out on top! I pity those who attempt to follow my footsteps, because no amount of trickery will overcome CCW's stability, TRUST ME!
I think that's about it, but I am more than happy to answer any further questions, Nelson

Mr Sweeney, I'd like to do something I never thought I ever would do and that is thank you on behalf of CCW for your words there. Personally, I think it's a great shame that you feel you have to leave, because if we could have just gotten over our professional differences we could have combined to make our company an even better promotion, rather than allow ourselves to be divided. I have to ask though, where has this change of heart come from?
Mr. Sweeney
Well I suppose I have gotten on with other endeavours outside of the wrestling world and I've had the time to reflect. I bow my head in shame when I think back to all of the decisions I made in CCW.
Nelson Rahi
The Golden Embassy - the group you instigated and managed - very nearly brought down CCW, as you alluded it - it came down to that match at Bad Blood for control of the company. In some ways you ought to hold your head high that you were capable of raising such a revolution. We all saw your single-minded resolve to achieve what you had set out to do and that has to be respected, even if our ultimate goals were widely distant. You have left a legacy and a mark in Conwy County Wrestling, what would you say to your ex-colleagues in The Prospect and AJ Hughes?
Mr. Sweeney
I suppose that's my thumbprint left in the minds of the CCW Fans, and in a twisted way of looking at things, I am proud that I almost brought the Company down, because now I will be remembered for something, even if it was for the wrong reasons.
With regards to Tommy Hayden and Ace Jordan - who are now going by different names apparently - most probably their attempt to erase their embarrassment of being aligned with failure - I have mixed emotions. On one hand, I enjoyed the comradeship and bond we formed in the Golden Embassy, and feeding off each other's egos. Yet on the other hand, I feel sorry for them. Ace is very selfish and never takes anyone else into consideration. He's kinda like the Triple H of CCW - only cares about being in the spotlight and benefits from other people's hard work ethics. Tommy is very easily swayed and likes controversy much like myself, and that is his ultimate downfall. He is a fantastic and underrated wrestler in my eyes, and I wish him the best of luck - but I know how his mind works (in that it doesn't work) so he will - and already has - been taken advantage of. In order for him to succeed in CCW, he needs to break away from all of that and focus on himself, ironically.
Nelson Rahi
Well, I shouldn't be surprised - you were never one to shy away from your opinions. I must ask, you spent nearly a year at loggerheads with Keith Mathews and Jack Union, do you still have any ill-will towards them? We've seen how Union has formed his own clique, do you have any regrets that you weren't able to turn his head towards the Embassy?
Mr. Sweeney
The very last scheme I pulled in CCW was finally getting into Jack Union's head by exposing the bogus decision in his Qualifying Match against Keith Mathews and making him realise that joining me would benefit his chances of becoming CCW Champion. And since he is now Champion, I suppose my last Act of Evil actually came true! For that reason, I hold no grudge against my greatest rival, because despite all the times he beat me in the ring, I ultimately beat him! I wish him and his clique success, but I know they will fail just like the Golden Embassy, so they need to enjoy their stay on the top now whilst they are still there.
Keith Mathews is a tricky one for me. He's like Ace Jordan when it comes to materialistic success. He just wants constant approval and has sold his soul to the CCW fans in a way which I thought was unimaginable. If he is happy, then fair play to him, but I don't know how he can sleep at night. I have no ill-will towards him as much anymore, and if we were to cross paths again, I wouldn't bring the past up, I would want to wipe the slate clean with him.

Nelson Rahi Mr Sweeney, this has been a rare and privileged insight into the mind of someone deeply involved in wrestling politics and I thank you for it. We at CCW definitely saw some difficult times due to your actions, but due to your humility and honestly, I can only wish you the best going forwards and in all of your endeavours. I'll let you have the last word as you so often did in a CCW ring, Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr Sweeney: |
Mr. Sweeney
Since this is my final say ever, I suppose it's only fitting that I sign off with wishing the wrestlers of CCW luck, as luck is for losers, and they are all losers right now - so get your act together, and take it from a guy like me who ultimately failed in CCW to use your time there to the best of your physical and mental ability. Trust nobody in the Locker Room, for one day they could lift you up, and the next day they knock you back down. You are a wrestler for the sole purpose to be recognised as the best, so strive to achieve that by taking no shortcuts, and not allowing spotlights to sway you from it.
As for the Management of CCW, I commend you greatly for kicking me out of the Office once and for all, however I still stand on the ground of not agreeing with your decisions and overall outlook on how CCW should be. I'm afraid we just have to agree to disagree there.
CCW fans - I can only apologise for you all having to put up with my inept ramblings whenever I was handed (or stole) a microphone. I got what I deserved, and now you all got what you deserve, and that is a CCW show without Mr. Sweeney.
To you Nelson, I say thank you, and to Jack Union, Keith Mathews, Tommy Hayden, Ace Jordan, Hal Jordan, Mason Tombs, Trent Adams, Armbar and anyone else I crossed paths with in the past - I say this: Mr. Sweeney has left the building! Now you all don't have any excuses to make when the building crumbles.
To Conwy County Wrestling - well played. Ciao!
